No place like Gunny but I

No place like Gunny but I will be only 20 mins from Hippie Hallow in Austin, TX. Will enjoy Gunnison for as long as I remain in the area.

Hippie hallow is a nice

Hippie hallow is a nice place.  Trails are cool but no beach like gunny.  I was there last year.

Retirement & Nude Recreation

Not an issue for me, as I am staying right where I am now: 10 miles from my front door to Gunnison!

We must be neighbors, about

We must be neighbors, about the same distance here.

Wow that is close

Jealous!  That is some kind of close.

I voted "somewhat" - it is

I voted "somewhat" - it is important to us, but some aspects of the political, legal, and tax environment will probably force us to move out of NJ, if we survive long enough to actually retire. There is nothing quite like GB anywhere else in the US.

Access Is Important

Access to a clothing optional beach is becoming more and more important the older I get.  At this stage in my life, late 40s, and after working for myself and running my small business for 25 years I'm ready to slow it all down.  Even at this relatively young stage in life seeing a growing number of friends getting ill and passing puts a magnifier on what is important in life.  Spending long days in an office chasing money becomes less and less important.  Sunshine, a beach with like minded folks, a small wood shop to tinker with, and spending time with my wife while watching my kids grow, would suit me just fine for the next 30 years.

Nude Retirement

My wife and I recently returned from Florida where we were investigating buying a place in one of the many nude resorts there.   In the course of a couple weeks, speaking to many of the residents, the comment that was nearly universal was, "Do it while you can"!!   Things in your life, such as health, can change quickly!   Damn it, I found out the hard way!   Go for the gusto while you're able!   A friend once told me, there has NEVER been a man who on his death bed uttered the words, " Gee, I wish I'd worked more over time"!

Common Message

It's interesting, I've heard Ed's message about clothing optional beaches over, and over, and over again.  In contrast, I've hardly ever heard the same about textile beaches and resorts.  And, yep, nobody ever wishes at the end of the line that they had spent more time at the office.

Retirement

Well the beach part of the idea sounds great. I could easily spend the rest of my life laying in the sun with a couple of friends

Shop

How about a wood shop ON the beach!   Nude beach + wood shop = awesome

I could wheel my table saw out there.  Just need a very long extension cord.  Would the rangers mind?

Brilliant!

Ha.  A wood shop on a clothing optional beach.  Now, that would be different. Smile
