I do not send these mass messages out very often but this has been a year for the record books.

There is an oprotunity to clean up Sandy Hook.

A Beach Clean at Sandy Hook in observation of MLK Day of Service scheduled for Saturday January 19, 2013. To sign up for this event contact Clean Ocean Action at this link http://fortheshore.org/sandy-hook . Do not wait there is a limit on volunteer involvement.

Seems the weather will not rain tomorrow, though today it hit 65 tomorrow will be 45.  The water is at 41 F. 

Fog is meeting on the beach at 11AM.  WE have several members from the site heading down, including me. (Not sure if I wil enter the water, but hey just getting into your suit at 45 F is a lot.

So I thought I'd send this out to let people know.  I hope to have an update tomorrow on the plunge.

Summer Is Here

Well not technically but it is way above 80.

Just launched a new site feature. 

The Going On Calendar.

What is it?  A place to let others know when you plan to go, and to see who else is going.  It should help those that want to meet other GBNJ.US members meet up at the beach.

Hello All,

Just a quick couple of notes about the site:

1. http://gbnj.us now points to our site and the login issues should not happen this time (email me if it does)


2. We are planning a get together the weekend before Memorail day.  So far the Saturday is in the lead.(5.21.2011).

      1. Just a casual get together so we can put a face to the name and might find people to hang with this season.
      
      
      2. I might try a weekday meetup right after it.  Need to see what works.(Mon-Thursday)

Summer is coming fast.  Some of us already hit the beach (I made it i Feb when we had that one warm day, others went this month when it hit 75.  Beach seems to be in good condition after the winter.

The site has been live for less than a month and we already have over 25 members signed up.  Thank you!!!!

Just wanted to update you on a few things.

Number one I have set up the Newsletter feature.  I added all current users to the newsletter.  If you want to unsubscribe you can on the site or send me an email and I will drop you from the list.

Forums

We have forums!!!!  Click Here to see.

We have one forum for your first time.  We would love to read your story.

We also have an Introduce yourself section and even have a place to post if you are looking for someone to go with you to the beach

WE have several other topics and I am willing to add any you think we need, email me or post in the site discussion forum.

We have some images already shared on the site.  Thanks to Stanpuppy and to madison69692006  for getting the ball rolling.(You have to log in to see images.  Casual anonymous users see nothing but the posts. to discourage gawkers)
